I reached out to a 1964 full-size Pontiac restoration expert. The following is what he reported:

The guy who had those reproduced......I think has passed. Last I heard he had cancer. His handle is "8 Lug" on PY forums......I haven't been on there in about 18 months. I'd check with him.....they are correct right down to the part #

Perhaps you can do some more searching based on this, or if anyone else knows who this person is (was) please let us know.

Thanks for the information. I spoke to 8 lug last month. I had bought the hose that is now on my car from him. He & his wife do have medical problems ant therefore he is not inclined to have more hoses made. They came from India and now are cost prohibitive.

Regards,
Tony

It appears we have made a big circle. I assume you are doing a top job restoration-wise. However, somethings just can't be. It would seem to me that a universal or "close-to" hose would not be a points deduction if all know they just don't exist any more.

One wonders though that someone has to have an old hose supply in their back room that might contain this item. Then again age would make it unreliable.

Can't say you haven't tried!

Hello,
I was in the same boat as you until I bought one of the last upper radiator hoses 8Lug (John M) had. He told me the same when I spoke to him last summer. I know he was thinking of going to Norwalk, OH for the nationals, but I didn't see him there with his Bonneville. I've done some research on my own and found that the upper hose from a '65 will fit, but looks different. This is the best that I have come up with short of using a flex hose. I did contact Ames about this years ago and sent them pictures, but nothing ever came of it. Don't order the hose they have listed in their catalog for this application as it is too short.

Frank

Thanks for your response. John M called me several months ago to tell me that he had found a hose while cleaning out his garage. Naturally, I bought the hose. I also e mailed the folks at Pontiac Paradise and told them of the situation. The are looking into reproducing the hose but I have not heard anything for some time. I had the Ames hose and could not use it. It is a very poor fit. Maybe someone will reproduce one because there none available.

Thanks,

Tony
