looking for information on a 1953 6 cylinder Pontiac sedan serial #3206939132 with auto transmission. motor #9260468.
light blue in color. Original was purchased in Vancouver Canada.

For Canadian hobbyists looking for car information, there is a service that can help: http://www.vintagevehicleservices.com/index.html

However, they seem to only offer identification information, but not location help. If it is the same in Canada as in the lower 48, there is really no way to find records of a vehicle's past ownership history, or current location (if still exists).

Good old fashioned Columbo work is about the best. See if original dealer is still around, do they have records that far back, are they wiling to share....?

We hope this post helps, but without sounding too pessimistic, don't hold one's breath. We always recommend locating a car as near as the one you wish you had and enjoy the heck out of it. It will never know if you're the original owner, and soon you won't care.

BTW, check some very recent past "Hemmings Classic Car" magazine issues for a two part (maybe three, I forget) story of a fantastic restoration of a '53 Pontiac.
