I found that the driver side rear spring torque box is rusted out(rotten is more appropriate). has anyone ever had to replace one.

Welcome to the wonderful world of unibodies! Rust is the enemy of these frame/body sections, and the reproduction houses are well aware of it (and probably getting rich off of it too).

That was just from a quick search; there are plenty of other places with these also.

So in answer to if anyone has replaced them,the answer is obviously "yes" but beware it is a big job that should be done by someone with lots of patience and good welding skills. These are integral parts of your car that make it strong and safe.
