I have a 1960 Pontiac Catalina Vista Hardtop. Engine 389 v-8 running on a Rochester 2 GC large bore carburetor.

Carburetor partnumber is: 7013060 and actually belongs on a 1959 Pontiac engine.

The 1960 should run on a Rochester 7015070 or a 7015072.

Can anyone tell me the actual difference between the 7013060 and 7015070/72.

Should I change to a 7015070/72 carburetor or can I modify/convert the 7013060 with a carburetor kit to a 7015070/72 ?

Oddly the 1959 Service Manual doesn't state part numbers, but the 1960 one does. It confirms the 7015070 (for auto. trans except Bonneville) number, but does not show a 7015072 . However, it shows a 7015073 (for standard trans except Bonneville).

You state the car is running on the '59 carb. I assume well, and that everything fit properly. If so, then I would leave it. I highly doubt there are any outside differences in any or most of these 2GC carbs.

A carb kit would most likely be universal for a great number of these carbs, so I'm suspecting none would actually "convert" one carb to another one.

Enjoy it as it is, and if you are going for detailed points judging, watch swap meets and want ads for the exact number one you want.

Can anyone provide me the correct carburetor adjustment information for the Rochester 7015070, 7015072 and 7013060 including correct jet size etc. Car runs but does not idle 100% and stumbles a bit during acceleration.

Go to our On-Line Reference Manual Library and check the posted Service Manual for the 1960. Don't get all bogged down with those individual numbers. Just check the 2GC section. I'm sure the information is the same for all of them. That 2-bbl. carb wasn't a super technical item.

For idle, check your air idle adjustment screws in the front in the bottom plate.

For stumbling on acceleration, it is most likely needing a new accelerator pump.

Try calling Mountain Man Fuel Systems, their carb knowledge is encyclopedic.
