Hello everybody, I am new to this site and hope to gain some new Pontiac friends here. I purchased a Can Am several weeks ago and I am missing the air cleaner assembly, I have the scoop but WAS missing everything else however I bought a complete air cleaner assembly from a 77-81 Trans am but it is much too short, anyone with any advice or insite into what I need would be awesome. What you need is the ton of spare Can Am parts... and a darn good solid car too that I sold to a guy in Orlando about five years ago who claimed he was going to "corner the market on Can Ams."

Spare hood, complete shaker setup, trunk lid, two (2) complete rear spoiler sets, bucket seats, rear seat, on and on it went. The sad part is I sold it all for $1500 just to get it out of my way.

Sadly, I heard later he was going belly-up (he had been riding the house building, high price wave in Florida for a number of years), and now was in the downward spiral. I seem to recall a divorce being thrown in for good measure.

I wish I had his contact info for you, but it goes to show that these parts do in fact still exist out there. You already learned that the T/A stuff doesn't fit.

Place a "Wanted" ad in our classifieds and comb the web. It is out there. I continue to see Can Am parts and cars popping up.

You have a great car there. I had a couple of them. The ex still has one of them sitting in the pole barn. It was very nice, but I don't know about it now.
