I-44 Auto Salvage, Missouri- a Pontiac Field Trip

Well, winter must finally be over.... no, it doesn't have to do with tree or flower buds, or even birds and squirrels. It has to do with junkyarding! But you car buffs knew that already.

Our PontiacRegistry.com crack reporter and Pontiac journalist, Jeff Redhage of Sullivan, Missouri has taken us through the first rights of Spring with a trip to a nearby auto salvage yard. He has shared a wealth of neat Pontiac discoveries for us to enjoy. And, Jeff has proven once again that there still are cars and pieces to be found... some rather unusual too.

Muscle Car Junkyard- 1970 GTO Judge

Everyone loves junkyarding. Everyone loves finding a super car to drag home. But every once in a while you find the sad case of rare cars that will never see the road again.

In this portion of a CAR CRAFT article, we see a junkyard that seems to be chocked full of sought after muscle cars of all sorts that are truly beyond belief-- belief that they could be so bad! Especially of interest to us is "The Humbler" GTO Judge that must have a scary story to tell of its demise.

Quite a Pontiac Collection- over 300 Pontiacs!

Some years ago Ron Kiser of Murphysboro, Illinois began collecting Pontiacs, and the collection grew... and grew... and grew....

Today over 300 Pontiacs, many from 50s and earlier grace the fields in neat rows.
