Miller High Life Warrior
Dale Pulde Firebird Funny Car
While the funny cars seldom represent what a "factory" car is all about, this "Miller High Life Warrior" holds pretty true to the Firebird body style. But, also true for the funny car field, the engines are often nothing like what you would expect the factory offering to be. In this case this Miller sponsored, Quaker State Oil co-sponsored, Firebird sports a Keith Black aluminum hemi capable of pushing this Pontiac body to speeds of more than 235 mph, and elapsed times less than six seconds. Kind of about what the Keith Black prepared "new" GTOs are doing today.
If you want to read some interesting stories of a famous funny car driver, check out "The Combustion Chamber" at www.maziracing.com for the complete story of Dale Pulde's racing career. It was pretty rough-and-tumble at times... fun reading and some interesting old photos.
